Dr. Hurcombe is a compassionate and experienced surgeon and, frankly, a fantastic human being! I would choose him first to do surgery on my own pet. He has great aseptic technique and prioritizes analgesia and post-op comfort which allows me to have peace of mind when my patients are in his care.

A particularly noteworthy case was an eight-month-old M DSH that presented to me with recurrent chronic upper and lower respiratory signs that continued to fail medical management. When the patient was anesthetized for diagnostic nasopharyngeal C&S, a cleft soft palate defect was noted and suspected to be causing repeated microaspiration through the defect leading to bouts of dyspnea, sneezing and anorexia.

Dr. Hurcombe and I decided that prompt surgical correction of the defect was going to be in the best interest of the patient. The surgery was seamlessly performed despite the higher risks and had no post-op complications. The patient was back to eating and drinking and living his best life the night of surgery! His respiratory signs have since completely resolved.
